Custom slash commands
You have typed the same prompt into Claude eleven times this month.
"Review this file against our conventions."
"Write the tests I skipped."
"Explain what this legacy function actually does."
Every time you retype it, it comes out slightly different, and the output does too.
Custom slash commands kill that.
A markdown file in .claude/commands/,
the filename becomes the command,
$ARGUMENTS takes whatever you type after it,
one line of frontmatter gives it a description,
subfolders keep forty of them tidy 🔥
That is the whole feature. Ten minutes to build your first one, and it ships with the repo so your contractors get it too.
I wrote up all eight commands worth building on day one, complete files, copy and paste.
Free. No email wall.
